Ballina Barrier Barge 2

Almost exactly 1 year after the first Ballina Barrier Barge, the Barrier Barge 2 was hastily organized and sponsors were rounded up at the last minute. The idea behind this DIY event is to shred the one obstacle in the Ballina skatepark that resembles a DIY spot, a lone barrier plopped atop a big bank.

Scandinavian Bowl Attack series (part 1)

Confusion Magazine flew up to Copenhagen, Denmark on the way to Sweden to cover the VERT ATTACK 6 event taking place in Malmö. Instead of just highlighting the two days of the insane vert skating that went down at VA 6, we’re putting up a little “Bowl Attack” series…

New concrete: Rattingen Bowl – Germany

A new mini-bowl has just been completed in Rattingen, Germany, about 15 minutes north of Düsseldorf. According to Baum who built this in cooperation with Camp Ramps, the city wanted a “u-miniramp”, but luckily they were talked into something a little more creative that will stand the test of time…

Nicky Gaston – artist feature

I discovered the works of Redwood City based artist, Nicky Gaston the year of 2007 in skate works through some close friends of Jason Strubing and mine. I became really interested in him not just as a skateboarder, but learning that he had more talents than one. He was not just a skateboarder, but also a skateshop manager as well as an artist. When I skate with him he seems to barge everything and give it his all. Its like he does that with everything and has amazing energy that people can feed off of.

Dragonslayer featuring Skreetch – contest

Here at Confusion, we don’t usually give away other people’s stuff, we’re too busy giving away our own, but, we like Skreetch, he’s a total psycho and he rules, and we’re also down with Addikt Skateboards, a true skateboarding company that is struggling along with the rest of us and doing exactly what they want to do.

Flowershop DIY – San Francisco

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, the entire Confusion staff was over on the west coast of North America. While searching for a photo, I stumbled upon this Flower Shop session back in 2008.

September Wheels Eastern Europe DIY Tour

Summer had come, which meant for us the oppurtinity for another great Bowl & Pool riding tour! After Basque Country 2009 (West) and Czech Republic in 2010 (East), the decision was easy to go south! The crew was set up as the usual suspects. Sylvain Morger and his brother Damien Morger, Lukas Halter and Ivo Weibel, Reto Bösch and Nicolas Büchi.

No Fucking Posers (Norwegian skateboarding)

“No Fucking Posers is just me filming my friends skating. Trying to show other people what we have up north in Norway. People and spots. There are so many rippers here in Norway and I wanted to document that but in a “friend vibe mode”. Most of this was filmed in 2010 but it has some skating from 1986 & 2004.”

Graveside Hawaii

After hearing about the unfortunate end to the first few editions of the Graveside project in Hawaii, we had to see what was going to be the next step for these die hard skateboarders… This is what we found. Graveside, October 2011

Wayne Webster Q & A

A couple of years ago while on a boat trip in Panama, one of my friends kept raving about his new magic board, a tiny 5’6 quad fish that was his small wave destroyer, shaped by his friend back in Lennox Head. A few years later, I finally got the chance to visit Lennox and enjoy some of the local specialties, such as “The Point”, “Boulders”, “South Wall”, and “Speeds”.
