D.I.Y. Skateboarding
Habash Skate – a bunch of creatives and craftsmen – invited to the annual Beton Fiesta at the skatepark in Näfels. People from all over Europe came together to build the new feature – a roller to miniramp. It’s the first extension of the park area in the last 10 years.
Making the film… has left us with a real appreciation for the power of DIY skate culture and what people can build together. Claiming unused spaces, re-imagining them, and making them our own is a downright political act too..
I put a few months into stacking the walls out of rocks and saving up money to hire the work for the shotcrete. That’s when the NW Arkansas guys started working on The Junction D.I.Y. It really showed us younger guys how possible it is to build things to skate with just the homies. After helping them more and more, I started wanting to build a park in the backyard piece by piece and do the concrete work with my friends instead.
Just a short ride from the District of Columbia is the legendary ditch of Riverdale. Located in Maryland, known for blue crabs and Old Bay seasoning, this DIY ditch project has been around since the 80’s.
I was stoked to get the call to head back for another Weekend at Timmy’s located up at Airlie Beach in North Queensland, Australia. While the majority of Australia is mostly cold and freezing this time of year, it’s plenty warm enough up here…
Three years ago, this was just an idea, today, hidden somewhere in the South of France, the DIY keeps growing, one bag of concrete at a time.
Founded in 2008, we’re the new generation carrying the club forward. We’re a crew of skaters from Chur, who ride, build, organize, and create opportunities for skateboarding in our hometown. Everything we do is volunteer-driven and rooted in the local scene that shaped us.

The annual Pool Bash of Greifswalder DIY happened for the 3rd time on Saturday 26th of June, bringing together skaters from around the world for an all-wheels skate jam that showed insane skating, amazing concerts, and ended with a refreshing swim on Berlin’s hotter weekend ever.
Ten skaters, two cars, two skateparks, two hundred and thirty-four kilometers roundtrip, 653 photographs and one pulled calf muscle. Destination Dilsen-Stokkem skatepark in Belgium.
