!Flashback! Black Bottom Pool: Oakland, CA, 1992

Digging around on my hard drive this afternoon I stumbled upon some unused footage of Matt Neely (RIP 1999) and considering this is the 10th anniversary of his untimely death, I figured I’d post the clip as a tribute to Mr. Neely, one of the best underground pool rippers of all time.

The footage is from the Black Bottom Pool in the Oakland Hills during the fires that burned down a lot of the mansions of the rich (with poos overlooking the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges) and allowed pool skaters to come skate the best selection of pools in years. I vaguely remember Jake Phelps showing up at this session, back 17 years ago. Time flies, when you’re having fun….

* the video is stretched to HD (it’s originally recorded with VHS-C) and the video player is HD only!. The sound is off as well. Sorry, it’s the only version I have.
