New LOHSE RAMP opening party. Cologne, Germany

The old Lohseramp was the only real ramp in all of Cologne, Germany, but when it ended up starting to rot after many winters and derelict kids starting fires under the transition, the city finally shut down the ramp and the locals took it apart and salvaged some of the masonite, for a possible future project.

BSS Crew – Basque Country skate tour

So we made another skate trip this summer, to the Basque Country! We stayed each night at the beach or near the skatepark and prepared our meals with a barbeque or a gas cooker. When we arrived in Bilbao we just picked up our rental car and directly headed to the first spot, it was an awesome obstacle park in the center of Bilbao with a huge halfpipe and a miniramp with a hip…

Ceramica DIY – Portugal

“We live in a small country, we crossed through nother economic crisis, our politicians do not know how to spend our money. We thought the following: let us take it that nobody wants to do what we want. In Leiria there are no shortage of places to skate. We have a skatepark, a beautiful square full of marble curbs, a half dozen street spots and a mini ramp in the woods. But Ceramica is where we feel good. Far from everything and everyone, here we have the freedom and tranquility for a few beers, barbecues , creating concrete ramps without scooters, rollers and bmxers to cross our path. Do it yourself, fuck the rest.

Ultrabowl 4: Malmö, Sweden

Ultrabowl 4. Concrete skateboard madness. 40+ rippers from around the world. Brad McClain continued his Scandinavian pro contest sweep with the win. Malmö local Fernando Bramsmark took 2nd. And Kevin Kowalski, last years winner took home 3rd place and a broken rib.

New concrete: Hamburg, Germany

This skatepark is based in Hamburg, Germany and is part of the International Garden Show 2013 Hamburg. It is the most complex park ever built in Germany. We have a bowl with about 460 feet of pool coping. There is this snakerun that starts at zero and ends in a 11 foot elevated pocket.

Skate scene report: Galicia, Spain

Skating in Spain. The first places that come to mind are Barcelona, the Basque Country, and Madrid. But we all know that there are lots of other interesting locations on this peninsula. This article is all about the north-westernmost corner, Galicia.

Wörgl DIY – Wörgl, Austria

Without any experience how to work with concrete we started building the first section of the park seven years ago. Since this time we somehow got addicted and whenever we have a bit of money collected we come back to the construction site to build another part! Wörgl Skatepark became one of the best skate spots in Austria and after all there is no end in sight! There’s plenty of ground left to be covered with concrete in the next years! Many thanks go to all the guys that invested months of hard work & the Pilotto Skate Shop for supporting this project since day one!

Low Holly DIY – Nantes, France

Inspired by Pontus Alv’s concrete sculptures, the first part of this private mini-skatepark began in August 2010, based on night and rainy construction sessions on an rough unused slab of an old farm. It includes several walls, a tall bump, a grindable bank, 2 quarterpipes and a fun pool coping spine in the middle. A corner was just added in august 2012. Low Holy is a nice spot in the middle of nowhere in the northwest part of France, in the city of Nantes, which has already received a lot of visitors and some heavy sessions

Velbert, Germany. Five tricks with Matze Preisser & Lukas Axmann in the Good Hope Hut Bowl

Yes, we just had a post on the new Minus park in Velbert, Germany. But, on the way back from the Bergfest in the Monster Bowl in Münster, Germany, I hooked up a ride back to Cologne we Matze Preisser and Lukas Axmann who were keen for a shred in a new concrete park they had never skated, and I had never been there and wanted to check it out myself.

Velbert, Germany – skatepark checkout + mini skate tour

We hit Velbert just after it was finished. There was a big hole in the deep-end that was not closed which limited our lines a little. But overall, the bowl is realy nice to skate. Crazy lines with the bump in the middle and a nice mix of different transitions. Pool stones in the deep-end and some stairs in a quick corner.
