We’re almost finished with a new skatepark by the beach in Barcelona, Spain designed with other two more projects in 2009 by a couple architect experts on landscaping and myself as a skateboarder.

Belgium café DIY skatepark

We were cleaning up the mess of the Malinas Machinas on monday and the brewer (Frans van Craenenbroeck) comes to me and he says: ‘I bought a café with a hangar in the back. Can you come check it out and see if it’s possible to built a skatepark in there?’…

Port Land DIY. Basel, Switzerland.

In the summer of 2011 the news that the beloved BLACKCROSSBOWL was to be destroyed came true and plans were soon put into place to find a new space to build. After some intense dealings with permits and raising money the Basel crew, motivated as ever, started digging, laying iron and troweling concrete in the waste land around the port area of Basel.

Park barge – Banzai Skate Park – Oahu, Hawaii

November in Hawaii brought huge swells and an abrupt closing of the Banzai skate park on the North Shore. A closing that would supposedly help the park grow with construction.

This is Gideon Lyimo, Tanzania's best skateboarder. He didn't compete in the contest because there was no any one to stand against him. At the end I gave him 10000 Tanzania shillings (5 euros) to motivate him to keep skating. I believe he will be countries first pro skater. Shown here with a boneless to the bank. He is also my assistant.

Confusion Day – Don Bosco skate park – Tanzania, Africa

It wasn’t only the first Saturday of 2014 but for us it was also a Confusion Day. We ended the day with a superb contest and we had fun. Thankfully, we had no “hall of meat”, no one got injured although we did brake one skateboard deck.

New concrete bowls in Capbreton – southwest France

Capbreton is hard to figure out, hard to get some speed but after a while it’s really fun. The street park is really nice, and well done. Bénesse-Maremne is more fun if you like trannys. The Viking Blocks pool coping is perfect and the concrete is smooth with lots of lines and quiet surroundings.

DIY Skateplaza Resthof Steyr – Upper Austria

The Skateboard Plaza Resthof, located in steyr/upper-austria, was created during the year 2012 by local skateboarders and friends. Our main goal was to create skateboard ramps which fit our needs.

Helmbrechts skatepark – Bavaria, Germany

Martin Ehrenberger of Blackriver, designed the park based on the notion of creating a park accessible to all skateboarders – regardless of their skill level.

A Day in the Life of Francisco “França” Lopez – Portuguese skatepark designer

One of the leading names in Portugal is Francisco “França” Lopez.

With over a quarter century with a skateboard under his feet, father of a kid who already has amazing skateboarding in his veins, team manager of the Portuguese DC Shoes, and the architect skater with more skate parks designed in Portugal than any other is now facing one of the biggest challenges of his career: create a company to build skate parks, starting at Parque das Gerações. I spent one day with him to try to understand how he can manage all this and still rip like a kid.

DIY Busua Beach – Ghana, Africa

After a surf holiday in Ghana in the winter of 2010, Michael offered to buy piece of land in Paradise village in Busua (west Ghana coast). The dream of opening their own hostel would become a reality and Michedetermines that he must build Ghana’s first skatespot in its plot.

Neudrossenfeld Skatepark – Germany

The chances you have heard about a tiny village one hour north of Nürnberg in the North-Bavarian outback called Neudrossenfeld are virtually zero. Designed by Blackriver Ramps and built last year together with the Yamato crew from Hannover and the legendary Baum, this park is a perfect combination of flow, street, and bowl.
