Xmas Skarty at Zach Cusano’s

The skarty was to celebrate the ramp finally being layered in skatelite after only having a plywood layer for the six years since it has been built. Also, I was home for Christmas so we made a holiday party out of it. Rippers from New York, New Jersey, and Pensylvania all came out and destroyed….

Hell Curving – Un giro de esperanza

We had the will and that’s what pushed us forward. There were many times, because of interferences by the city council, that we almost stopped and gave up, but pride, strength, and our internal struggles made it possible that after 12 years, that piece of concrete hope still remians, something we built then because we needed a decent place to skate, and as a symbol of protest against a city that discriminated and labeled us delinquents, and still does to this day.

Pushing Myanmar

Pushing Myanmar is creating the first free of charge community-built skatepark in Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar (Burma). The Yangon City Development Committee has granted permission for German non-profit organization Make Life Skate Life to construct a 300m2 concrete skatepark at a public park in Kamayut Township, close to downtown Yangon. If we can reach our fundraising goal, construction will begin November 15 and the skatepark will be open to local youth by December 5!

Spanish Nightmare

I got one square concrete bowl, three plastic bowls, one empty toilet, found no toilets with doors anyways, almost one selfie, a couple sandy beaches…

Boa Vida bowl – southern Portugal

It’s just a dream that came true. We had to work a lot to accomplish this. We had the outstanding support from some special people that believed in it. But sadly we had to fight and we still do with lawyers because legal processes are against us. Because we are dreamers, because we live our dreams we should fight for them, but don’t take us wrong we don’t like to fight, it’s such a waste of energy, we like to love and we made it out of love, we fight it with love, but you know, love does not pay the lawyers and fines that the local police and the government gave to us and are still trying to destroy our dream…

Pool Session 2015 – La Kantera, Basque country

This year the level in the juniors was high, all were ripping hard. In the pool sesion many people from Barcelona came and were ripping the pool. A cool session with locals too. Good moments. Skate for fun.

Switchblades and Urethane music festival – Long Beach, California

Skaters are just naturally creative. Every time we step on a board we are creating something by pushing and doing a trick. We see the world differently than the rest of the world. We see objects in the street and think, “damn, I need to skate that”! So it’s just makes sense that many skaters have picked up an instrument and formed bands. We need to express our artistic and creative nature through these avenues. “Switch Blades and Urethane” fest is just an extension of that unison between skaters and music.

Brotherhood Plaza – Skarpnäck, Sweden

Brotherhood Plaza is one of the first skate plazas in Sweden with more than 1600 square meters to skate. With grass gaps, curbs, banks, hips and even a bowl this D.I.Y park is surely worth a visit. With a colorful mix of obstacles the founder, David Krug, in collaboration with Stockholm City and the local community, made sure that there will always be new lines to be discovered at the plaza. With more of an urban vibe going on this plaza is frequently visited and cherished by most skaters in the Stockholm county and also a must tour-stop for skaters passing by in the area code.
