Etnies Skatepark’s new shark pool drew 500 skaters Friday night for the annual Hallows Eve Bowl Contest. The fourth annual event featured competitions in four divisions. Everyone wore costumes and the crowd was treated to live music by Killing California and skate rock legends JFA.
I think it’s a dream of every skater to have his own ramp at home. Sure, I have my own ramp at home. Sure, it’s a crazy big ramp, half bowl half mini ramp, etc. But sure its not a pool….
Caltrans is gonna shut down Channel Street for a year and do construction on the freeway for the freeway expansion. Already in the works is a new project at Peck Park that the local kids and the makers of Channel are helping design which they are trying to get done as soon as Channel closes which will be sometime next year.
This is a home made pool with obstacles around the deck, somewhere in the wooded mountains of Willets, CA. The pool is real good – an amoeba with a death-box in the deep, shallow stairs, and pool coping all the way around… except over the shallow stairs where there is river rock mortared in for coping (up the ante!). This pool is not the easiest pool to skate. I have skated backyarders that are easier, but it is great nonetheless.
Confusion Magazine surf videographer Sean Wood was down in Mexico this summer surfing and filming both paddle in and tow-in surfing. This edit is all machine assisted tow-ins. Not the most soulful way to surf, but hey, it gets the job done when it’s too big to paddle in. Here’s the edit of the Motorhead’s pulling in to some of Mexico’s best beach breaks.

Marginal Way started as a one ghetto little quarter pipe against the wall under Highway 99. It was one of the only covered spots to skate in Seattle. Bums and garbage was pretty much all there was before the creation of Marginal Way, as the people came together the freeway under pass diy spot started to grow.
The session at the brand new D.I.Y spot at the Mellowpark in Berlin was amazing. Lot’s of riders from all ages and all over Europe came together to skate this epic place. Not even a heavy dump could stop the session. Free drinks and BBQ made the day perfect! Thanks to Lenni, Jan and all the other locals that put so much effort, love and time into this outstanding project! – Asti
A year ago, we started with a small concrete quarter pipe. We didn’t know how long it would stay there, so we were really happy with our little spot. After a while, we built up a wobble and a china bank and still, no one teared it down. So we went big and built a corner, complete with Pudi’s Pool Coping.
