Every year the Denver danglers host their annual chili cookoff, a backyard skateboard jam with the best chili competition.
We roared into Tampere like a pack of deranged lunatics, chasing the ghost of Gonzo himself. This is the sauna capital of the world, the beating heart of the happiest skate community on earth, and damn it, the warmest, most welcoming one too.
Last month, The Tournament took place with Cruzade skateboards at Ramputene DIY under the bridge in Donostia/San Sebastian
Long story short: this is something more than just a contest, it’s a family thing, with incredible dedication. Skateboarding as skateboarding should be.
Finland’s locals never give up on celebrating our favorite pastime on four wheels. Over the last years, one town took up a really a massive collective effort and created what to me is one of the most lovely “skate towns” in Northern Europe – and that town is Tampere! Their work led to the creation of the infamous Kenneli DIY Bowl, the Pirkanmaan Kaarikoirat ry association, the outdoor bowl of Iso Villunen, and plenty of cool skate spots all around town.

A couple of years ago, we got the need with the family to leave our old soviet flat and seek for a house. For months, we struggled to find the One but finally found a perfect little old house in central Tallinn. In the backyard, it has a tiny garden with a little green garage/barn.
The few times I was able to get out to roll and capture souls it was very quickly settled that I was going back to the island.
The new wall came out pretty gnarly, but it really added a challenging feature to the bowl. With DIY spots we get to experiment and take risks, and this time it paid off!
Wild, that’s the word to describe the weekend at Barbecue DIY, south of France. We were very lucky to be welcomed by Enzo, owner of this beautiful garden and maybe one of the nicest pools to skate in France. This event helped to finance the construction of the DIY.
