Consolidated in Baja

Steve Bailey and Roberto Alemañ head down to Baja with Leticia and hit up some backyard pools, have a run in with corrupt police, ride horses, drink margaritas, and have some good times…

Hagen-Haspe skatepark make-over – Germany

Ever since the old funbox in Hagen-Haspe got torn down the park needed a new main obstacle. With the Help of Klaas Kleinschmidt, from the Skateboard e.V. of Hagen, Ur-Haspe local Andre Neubert, and myself, we got the chance to give the park a little make over.

Alarm Pools – Atlanta, Georgia

These things have been around for years. Jerry Bundy and I rolled around the water in the bottom of one, three or four years ago, and decided it wasn’t worth the effort to bail the foot or so of scum out of it. I’ve heard that others have made the same decision….bail it, take one run…screw that!

Reformas in Algorta – La Kantera Pool Service – Basque country

We created La Kantera Pool Service – Iñigo Rica, Sendoa Altonaga, Manuel Olagorta, and myself, Borja Casas. We repaired the coping of the banks, changed the stones to create new spots and we put pool coping in one corner and one ramp. The ramp’s name is Carabobo. We repaired holes and painted it and now it is really good to skate!

“Built in manual steering shit” by Matt Grabowski

I have to disappoint you. Every year I lose interest in skateboarding. It’s all show everywhere. Show. Tradeshow. Car shows. Even car shows suck. It’s all costume design hot rotted “I like the old style but I also like the new 2014 power steering shit.”

New concrete: Hamburg, Germany

This skatepark is based in Hamburg, Germany and is part of the International Garden Show 2013 Hamburg. It is the most complex park ever built in Germany. We have a bowl with about 460 feet of pool coping. There is this snakerun that starts at zero and ends in a 11 foot elevated pocket.

The Kevin Wenzke Interview

Kevin Wenzke is one of the best all around transition rippers in Germany. At 22 years old, destroying any new bowl or ramp built on European soil, as well as the older concrete relics from the past, Kevin has a bright future in skateboarding. We were close to interviewing Kevin for issue #3 of Confusion Magazine but he had a bad knee injury which took him out for about eight months last May, so we couldn’t complete the feature. Here we have a short interview with some photos taken right before his injury, and a few older photos and sequences. Be on the look out for a full feature with Kevin in 2012 with all new photos as he completes his recovery and returns to slay the concrete bowls across the lands!

West Covina Pool – southern California

Mike had this one going for a while and was one hell of a host. You can only imagine the look on the landlords face when she came by to show a potential renter a room and saw the pool drained! Lots of Action went down at this gem in West Covina. Rhino from Thrasher came by with crew including Grant Taylor and the scored a cover for the 30th anniversary issue. The night before Mike got the boot this session went down. Johnny Abernathy, Ben Butler, Erik Peters, and Robbie from pedro.

Lankow Bowl – Germany

Lankow skatepark, located about 1.5 hours east of Hamburg in Northern Germany is one of the newest skateparks recently completed by Minus Ramps & Pools.

DIY Willits – California

This is a home made pool with obstacles around the deck, somewhere in the wooded mountains of Willets, CA. The pool is real good – an amoeba with a death-box in the deep, shallow stairs, and pool coping all the way around… except over the shallow stairs where there is river rock mortared in for coping (up the ante!). This pool is not the easiest pool to skate. I have skated backyarders that are easier, but it is great nonetheless.
