Driving down Melrose Ave. I saw a quiet little spot, perfect for a narrow quarter pipe. I knew there is no way I could build there so I started thinking about prefab DIY….
Futaba tunnel is one of the closest skate spots from the Fukushima nuclear plants. It was a hard and fun spot.
After we had built a sweet kidney pool in the lovely seaside resort of Mers les Bains on the northern french Atlantic coast last year we were invited to come back this year for more. The plan was to extend the street area with some kind of pump track around the whole park and mixing some street obstacles in there and just try to open up as many lines as possible.
The spot is called Plymouth DIY. We decided to build something really steep and whippy because every skatepark around here is really small and mellow.
Two years ago I started digging a pool in my town Lodi. The city authorized the skate association to do that but after a while I found asbestos in the dirt.. it’s not toxic but really harmful if you inhale it. I don’t know if you have that shit where you live, but it’s pretty big in Italy though. Somebody hid the asbestos back in the day. I quit with that. I wasted six hundred euros…
No amount of anti perspirant could have prepared us for this year’s trip. The sausage gods of Hamburg felt it was fit to slowly roast our pale British skins and make skateboarding extra difficult. Six gents sharing a small room created some very interesting smells and we were drinking more water than von raven this time round…
The place is located in Senica in western Slovakia. The situation with skateboarding in Senica is completely fucked up and skateboarding there is only a fucking business.
5 years ago, with the help of the Brusk crew, my friends David, Yan and I had the opportunity to participate in the construction of our own dreampark, consisting primarily of a clover-shaped, 7 feet deep pool.
The light was gone, the mozzies were totally taking over and the skaters were no longer in charge! And that’s an afternoon at Creekside. Fun had by all.
This place is situated in Joensuu which is a small city in eastern Finland. This DIY spot is actually a street takeover.
