On arrival I don’t think anyone really knew what we were getting ourselves in for the following week back in early June in Hannover, Germany. The basic idea was that the 2 er – ‘the two stair’ Crew had the idea to invite D.I.Y (Do It Yourself) Skate crews from all corners of Europe to come to their spot and each team would be given 3 days to build something.
It was built in in a old slaughterhouse. It was known as Abbatoire 16 which means Slaugtherhouse 16 in french.

I hate my parents can still resonate in the adolescent head of the skateboarder you are. It’s perhaps still the case, but try to love your friends’ parents because they could agree to give you part of their garden to build a sort of Steppe Side style / DIY skate spot. I don’t know them but I start to love them too.
FDR Skatepark began its life in 1996 with a few small obstacles built by the City of Philadelphia in an attempt to meet the needs of a growing community. In true D-I-Y fashion, local skaters soon gathered their resources and began the ongoing construction of a space of their own design. The PFK SKATE SUPPORT CENTER is in a town called Itoshima, Fukuoka Kyushu which is on the western island of Japan. The skatepark was built by a group of skateboarders and punks that are friends. We are taking the form of a recycling based non-profit organization. PFK SKATE SUPPORT CENTER keeps an independency that does not belong to any other Japanese scene and which returns profits to skateboarders directly by building a skatepark.
We created La Kantera Pool Service – Iñigo Rica, Sendoa Altonaga, Manuel Olagorta, and myself, Borja Casas. We repaired the coping of the banks, changed the stones to create new spots and we put pool coping in one corner and one ramp. The ramp’s name is Carabobo. We repaired holes and painted it and now it is really good to skate!

After a surf holiday in Ghana in the winter of 2010, Michael offered to buy piece of land in Paradise village in Busua (west Ghana coast). The dream of opening their own hostel would become a reality and Michedetermines that he must build Ghana’s first skatespot in its plot.
With a lot of hard work from all the homies, an abandoned lot within the northern suburbs of Melbourne, containing most resources that were required, was quickly cleaned and concreted within 2 weeks.
