…10 years later, a big part of the European DIY skate scene were there in Chamrousse, to celebrate the spot who shaped an entire generation, and inspired people like me, to build their own DIY.
3600 kilometers of asphalt, tent poles working overtime, and a bunch of pools and DIYs punched into the GPS. This time we hit the South of France.
The “Rotafibra” technique is the synthesis of almost 14 years of research in bio construction, from natural materials, with or without industrial inputs… the construction of skate tracks remains the field of experimentation.
Early in the morning, a group of motivated people in their best winter gear gathered to start work. The snow and frosty temperatures were fought with fire and determination.
The Greifi Pool turned one year old this summer and we celebrated it with a big bash. Stuff for tricks and everyone – doesn’t matter what size, wheels, gender, or skills – was welcome to shred. People showed up and contributed their best.
Our annual event has been transformed into a small festival! Sound system, homemade food, craft beer, fire show, the whole story!

It rains a lot around here, and despite having public skateparks in the area, they are always full of scooters and there was no indoor park, so we got down to work and started cleaning everything to build a miniramp…
People from all over Europe gathered to break down old features and build new ones, all on a voluntary basis, appreciating the beautiful place and its community.
