EXTEENAGER: THE ARTWORK OF ROBBIE ARIAS
I choose photos of a style burned into my soul from admiring skaters like Hosoi and Cab. I started this love for skating in the mid 80s. It was all about judo airs, tweaked methods and the way crossbones look.

In death, everyone is equal, and yet every death is individual. “Individual Equality” was the title Dleks (Alex Hasert) had planned for his exhibition before he met death on October 11, 2024. Artist, poet, skateboarder, friend, lover. Struggling with the world and full of love for his loved ones. Laughing into the abyss. These words can also be used to describe his works, often gloomy at first glance, but usually conceal another hidden side.

It´s been around ten years ago since I first met Fernando. He was visiting our common friend, Pipas, in Switzerland and they came over for a skate session in the barn. We did not talk much back then and we didn´t have a real connection. He was mostly sitting somewhere drawing in a notebook, while everyone else got stoned when not skating. When dinner time came he sat on the side picking a raw cabbage and I remember asking him what was up with that. He told me he was as a raw foodist and how he got into that.
Here is a short clip of my three-exhibition Tour in germany this summer. We edited it in one day at Confusion Magazine headquarters in Köln.
It was filmed by Piper, Sergej Vutuc, Jonathan Hay and myself on fairly simple cameras. A very low budget production but really high in fun, liebe and other vitamin-rich ingredients. – Fernando Elvira
I discovered the works of Redwood City based artist, Nicky Gaston the year of 2007 in skate works through some close friends of Jason Strubing and mine. I became really interested in him not just as a skateboarder, but learning that he had more talents than one. He was not just a skateboarder, but also a skateshop manager as well as an artist. When I skate with him he seems to barge everything and give it his all. Its like he does that with everything and has amazing energy that people can feed off of.
