Thursday 17th, December 2015, La Kantera book was finally released! Two and a half years of work and boom! One day the dream ends and reality takes over. 350 pages (plus) of raw, local, Basque skateboarding, all of it printed in a deluxe edition.
Bowlzilla at La Kantera skatepark. Getxo, Euskadi.
The mallorcans came to skate at La Kantera. We knew about some fullpipes in a big factory in Nafarroa (Euskadi) so we went their to search out the pipes, trespass and skate them. We had a big session, short, but awesome!! We all skated the full pipes. Mission accomplished. Thanks skateboarding.
This year the level in the juniors was high, all were ripping hard. In the pool sesion many people from Barcelona came and were ripping the pool. A cool session with locals too. Good moments. Skate for fun.
The town of Zarautz on the Atlantic coast in Basque country has a long skate and surf tradition. A town well known for it’s world surfing championship held every year since the late 1980s also has a skatepark build on the beach back in this time which was a copy of the La Kantera skatepark.
The locals of La Kantera have a town tradition where on the last day of the year they skate in costumes and bomb a hill ending up at La Kantera skatepark.

Again, unity is strength, so a CREW united by the skate is unstoppable. Twenty people willing to work to improve the image of your skatepark, an OASIS result in the middle of the city, a delight, cement painted bright colors, a light source, a breath of fresh air, new motivation, bueno…
We created La Kantera Pool Service – Iñigo Rica, Sendoa Altonaga, Manuel Olagorta, and myself, Borja Casas. We repaired the coping of the banks, changed the stones to create new spots and we put pool coping in one corner and one ramp. The ramp’s name is Carabobo. We repaired holes and painted it and now it is really good to skate!
On October 6th, we tried for the 4th time to have the “Pool Session” in La Kantera organized by La Kantera Skate Eskola The children could skate the other part of the skate park, for two hours, but the rain started, and the organisation decided to make some fun, for example the biggest power slides, the best trick in the ramp, etc.
