Killer 50-50s Pool Jam – 2019 – La Kantera

The second edition of the “Killer 50-50s Pool Jam” went down September 28th-29th at the La Kantera pool in Algorta, Basque Country. Geezers from England, Germany, Sweden, France, Portugal, Basque country and USA showed up for the pool party.

The Tournament – Las Arenas, Getxo 2016

The Tournament 2016 took place Lasa skatepark in Las Arenas, Getxo recently repainted and slightly upgraded by Kako, Alex Mosterin and other locals from Algorta. The day before was a mini ramp contest in Romo, also in Getxo

La Kantera book release

Thursday 17th, December 2015, La Kantera book was finally released! Two and a half years of work and boom! One day the dream ends and reality takes over. 350 pages (plus) of raw, local, Basque skateboarding, all of it printed in a deluxe edition.

Reformas in Algorta – La Kantera Pool Service – Basque country

We created La Kantera Pool Service – Iñigo Rica, Sendoa Altonaga, Manuel Olagorta, and myself, Borja Casas. We repaired the coping of the banks, changed the stones to create new spots and we put pool coping in one corner and one ramp. The ramp’s name is Carabobo. We repaired holes and painted it and now it is really good to skate!

La Kantera “Pool Session”

On October 6th, we tried for the 4th time to have the “Pool Session” in La Kantera organized by La Kantera Skate Eskola The children could skate the other part of the skate park, for two hours, but the rain started, and the organisation decided to make some fun, for example the biggest power slides, the best trick in the ramp, etc.

BSS Crew – Basque Country skate tour

So we made another skate trip this summer, to the Basque Country! We stayed each night at the beach or near the skatepark and prepared our meals with a barbeque or a gas cooker. When we arrived in Bilbao we just picked up our rental car and directly headed to the first spot, it was an awesome obstacle park in the center of Bilbao with a huge halfpipe and a miniramp with a hip…

Euskadi Skate Session

This last summer I drove in our VW bus from Germany out to Asturias, in the North of Spain, with my girlfriend to check out the land, the people, the ocean, the skate scene and the general lifestyle of the region to see if we want to move there in the future. On our way back through Basque Country, I couldn’t resist to stop in at one of my favorite skate spots, La Kantera.
