On June 21st the first Women of Washington Street skate jam took place in sunny San Diego, California – one of its kind in this intimidating DIY skatepark just under the bridge of the 101 pacific highway.
Skate clinics of all ages were held and it had from lil future shredders to some grown ups that are finding out their new passion.
The skate jam took place in different parts of the park, cash was given for tricks done from the lower love seat to the high bank, the bank to rail and the high wall were the level of gnar and determination of the ladies was seen – finger flips to tail, eggplants on the high wall, and kick flips Indy’s over the roll in channel just to name a few.
This was a full day of hardcore skateboarding and definitely not the last WOWST.
Can wait for next year! – Olga
