TrukenTroef IV – Ramses Bowl – Vorselaar, Belgium

It was our fourth TrukenTroef edition so we had to make it a good one! Last summer we built another obstacle to make the park more ‘streetwise’ (with the money we made with our third contest) and in April the council paid for a new floor (made by Ratman and his crew!) So the park looked brand new, the weather was lovely and we had more sponsors than ever before!

We’re not trying to make a serious contest, we just do best tricks on every obstacle to make it feel more like a session with friends. If the judges like your trick you win something right away! On top of that we had the ‘knockout Monk challenge’, a list of five signature Mark Hubbard tricks to honor the man. If you made one, your name was put on that list. ‘Noodles’ was landing the most of them and won some free Knock Out stuff.

People were skating their asses off all day, even in the under 14 contest we saw some incredible tricks. Then Oscar Pochet did an insane drop in and transfered stuff you never thought was possible over there. Toon Dierckx was skating (and barbecueing) very consistent, while Maarten de Ryck and Quentin Dupont raised the bar with their technical skills.

Our final battle was the bowl bash, always lovely to see some competition coming in! People were really fired up by our DJ’s killer tunes and all MC’s were already pretty funny drunk by then… Actually we ran out of beer much too soon this year, but we headed over to he afterparty venue to see the legendary ‘End Of Ernie’, the organ fused ‘Prince Beastly’, the hectic ‘Ero Guro’ and ‘Crackups’ make their comeback after a 10 year hiatus… Best day of the year evey time!!!
