OMSA Tour De France

It all started five years ago when some dude from France posted photos from the Malmö Ultra Bowl contest… One of the photos was also of me and since then I meet Fred every year and he invites me to come to France. As I was only in a few places in France in all the years, the time had come! And I’m still fully stoked – so read on…

New concrete bowls in Capbreton – southwest France

Capbreton is hard to figure out, hard to get some speed but after a while it’s really fun. The street park is really nice, and well done. Bénesse-Maremne is more fun if you like trannys. The Viking Blocks pool coping is perfect and the concrete is smooth with lots of lines and quiet surroundings.

Vert Attack 6 – Malmö, Sweden – 2012

A year late and a euro short… last January, over 1 year ago, was VERT ATTACK 6, an epic vert two day show down on Malmö’s “mid size” vert ramp at Brygerriet skatepark. The year before, Vert Attack 5 showcased vert skateboarding legends Steve Caballero and Christian Hosoi, and this years old school legend was none other than Duane Peters! Other than the the Master of Disaster showing up to perform practically every trick he invented, on hand were young gun american rippers Brad McClain ane Ben Hatchell who skated the ramp padless with every lip trick in the book as if it were a miniramp.

Cradle Rock Bowl Contest – Bordeaux, France

For the 5th time, Transfert skateshop, was organizing the CRADLE ROCK CONTEST at the skatepark in downtown Bordeaux. It’s been famous for the laid back and relaxed atmosphere and its punk attitude.

Vert Attack 5 – Malmö, Sweden – 2011

VERT ATTACK 5 was one hell of a contest at the huge vert skater gathering in Malmö, Sweden.
VERT IS BACK! After the fifth edition of the “European Midvert Championships” it’s getting ridiculous to deny this. That was already the case after last winter’s Vert Attack 4, when 67 european vert skaters had celebrated an incredible day of vert at its best.

Back to Old School 3 – Antwerp, Belgium (pre-contest)

A long time ago, in Anterp, Belgium the Back to Old School, 2nd edition was due to take place. Jason Parkes met me at my house in Cologne with his son Kilian. We got in my vw van and drove the 2 hours to the skatepark, where Lester Kasai and Mark Partain were warming up the day before the contest. It had been raining earlier and the park just dried up when we got there, and was practically empty, except for one of the best pool skaters in the world, and legendary 80s dominator Lester Kasai.

Pirate Ship: Hossegor, France – OMA Brats & Beers

he idea behind the Brats & Beers skate Sesh was to celebrate the launch of my Old Man Army deck with Mike, OMA co-founder, paying for the brats. Carlsberg offered a few stacks of brew, and Carhartt was happy to let us use their more than sick Pirate ship bowl in Hossegor… Nothing more was needed to get the session going and sharing good times with a few old schoolers and some up and coming young bloods!” – Greg Poissonnier
