Ever since I saw Pontus Alv’s “Strongest of the Strange” I wanted to build some skate stuff myself. The film blew my mind // great skating, artwork and DIY, but especially the short moaning scene. It sounded all so familiar to me: no time, no spots to skate, no motivation.
AGARASA BASE is a skatepark I made in Nagahama, in the Shiga Prefecture of Japan. I spent about three years building the park in my backyard.
I started going to meetings and pitching the idea for a skate park in my home town of Valley Center, California about five years ago. At that time they, parks and rec., said there was no money for something like that so I didn’t pursue it for another year, until I saw a sign for and new sports field to be built.
DIY spot in France (Thouars in Deux-Sevres). This is the 872 DIY bowl project, just near a bridge which was built by Gustave Eiffel company in 1872.
It was January 2014, together with my friend after a few beers we decided to build a concrete pool in the heart of Warsaw under the bridge where I was previously involved with POWISLE DIY project. We were pissed off because of many things like the fact diy culture is still not that big in Poland, all the bowls at the parks are really bad and mellow and don’t even have good coping

The spot is called Plymouth DIY. We decided to build something really steep and whippy because every skatepark around here is really small and mellow.
It all started five years ago when some dude from France posted photos from the Malmö Ultra Bowl contest… One of the photos was also of me and since then I meet Fred every year and he invites me to come to France. As I was only in a few places in France in all the years, the time had come! And I’m still fully stoked – so read on…
Two years ago I started digging a pool in my town Lodi. The city authorized the skate association to do that but after a while I found asbestos in the dirt.. it’s not toxic but really harmful if you inhale it. I don’t know if you have that shit where you live, but it’s pretty big in Italy though. Somebody hid the asbestos back in the day. I quit with that. I wasted six hundred euros…
October is here. The hot days of summer are just a memory now. Cooler days … Keep reading
