Polenta 7000 More Than a Summer Bar

From early May to the end of July, Polenta 7000 brings a special kind of magic to Chur. What started as a summer bar has become much more: a place where people meet, share ideas, enjoy culture, and create memories together.

With concerts, comedy shows, DJs, and countless events, Polenta 7000 offers something different every weekend. But what truly makes it special is the feeling of community. It is one of those rare places where everyone feels welcome and where summer seems to last a little longer.

A heartfelt thank you to Jen, Manuel, the entire association and all the volunteers who make this possible year after year. Your passion, energy, and dedication have created something beautiful for Chur and its people.

A place that has become part of Chur’s summer identity.

We are the Rollbrettclub Chur.

Founded in 2008, we’re the new generation carrying the club forward. We’re a crew of skaters from Chur, who ride, build, organize, and create opportunities for skateboarding in our hometown.

Everything we do is volunteer-driven and rooted in the local scene that shaped us. Our goal is simple: to keep skateboarding alive, support the next generation, and leave the scene stronger than we found it.

About the event:

Everything began at the end of winter, when Jen and Manu invited us for a few beers to talk about a project. Manu, surprisingly, had managed to book the legendary Swiss punk band Knöppel, and the plan was simple: combine live music with a skate event.

The only problem? Polenta is mostly grass, terraces, bars, containers, and things that are definitely not made for skateboarding. Looking for inspiration, we ended up somewhere between bad ideas and Swampfest videos. The result was a kicker jumping through a container, a gap from the bar terrace and apparently that wasn’t enough, so we looked for a miniramp. We reached out to Livio from the Warriors crew in Lugano, who helped to turn another crazy idea into reality.

Everything started on Tuesday. We drove four hours at night to pick up the ramp and spent the rest of the week building, carrying, screwing, fixing, and occasionally pretending we knew what we were doing. As always, there were a few classic skate-event moments. On Wednesday morning, before the meeting, Livio accidentally locked his van with the keys inside, but twenty minutes and a piece of wire later, the problem was solved.

The event kicked off on Friday with a skate session and the Knöppel concert. Saturday brought workshops, a spinning wheel, cash and goodies for tricks, and a special surprise from the Habash crew: a smoky rail extension on the miniramp. The weekend came to an end with a concert by Shah Blah, plenty of smiles, and surprisingly few injuries.
