Another Summer of Concrete
Three years ago, this was just an idea, today, hidden somewhere in the South of France, the DIY keeps growing, one bag of concrete at a time.
Nothing happens here without the people who make the journey. Every summer, volunteers from all over like Arnaud, Arthur, Sofia… leave their daily routines behind to spend a few days, weeks, pushing wheelbarrows, mixing concrete, building new pieces of concrete. That’s what keeps this place alive.
Since the very beginning, Tim from Barbecue DIY has been the heart of the project. Builder, designer and problem solver, he’s been leading every session.
This July, the crew gathered once again for three weeks of construction. Alongside the concrete builders crew, new sections took shape and the park reached another milestone. Every corner evolved, every detail mattered, and every pour brought us one step closer to the vision we’ve been chasing since day one.
The standout piece of this year’s build has to be the pocket. Tim finally completed it with a custom piano pool coping—something we’ve never seen before. A crazy detail that changes the way the pocket skates and gives the spot its own signature. The kind of feature that reminds you why DIY will always be a space for experimentation, without limits or compromises.
At the end of July, friends, builders and locals came together for the annual jam. No pressure, no contest—just good people, fresh concrete and local beer.
Three years in, the project is still evolving. The ideas keep coming, the crew keeps growing, and the next masterpiece is already taking shape.
DIY isn’t just about concrete. It’s about people. The spot will never really be finished—and that’s exactly the point.
