If you know Mike and Choubi, it’s a bit hard to believe those two characters, with really different personalities, managed one day to join forces and build this masterpiece. But they sure did!
And 10 years later, a big part of the European DIY skate scene was there, in Chamrousse, to celebrate the spot who shaped an entire generation, and inspired people like me, to build their own DIY.
Thank you guys, we owe you a lot.
“Un slob ? C’est quoi cette merde ?! T’en as dans l’slob ?!”
“A slob? What the hell is this? Got any in your slob? ?!”
The old bowl is going downhill too much ? The first doorway is too mellow? The new one is too gnarly ? Hips are too sharp ? Bla-bla-bla…
Whatever, you might just be like me, looking for excuses to sit down and enjoy the show while the Jean-Jacques crew from Belgium were murdering the place.
“Transfert par-dessus les clochards !”
“Transfer over the bums !”
Special shout-out to Fabi who was ripping on board and on stage, with his band “Spotbust”.
Was the firework show planned ?! Damn, it that was intense !
“Viens chercher tes 10 balles Lucien, t’as réussi à prouver qu’on pouvait venir de Marseille et tout de même avoir bon goût !”
“Come get your ten bucks Lucien, you’ve managed to prove that you can come from Marseille and still have good taste.”
Thank you Léo & co for organizing this happy mess. Loved it. Go support Wonders Around the World. Those guys do more for skateboarding than a lot of your favorite athletes.
“Rasta, qui skate pour les femmes de plus de 50 ans!”
“Rasta, who skates for women over 50!”
Oh yeah, and on top of all this : thank you Guillaume Colucci for another amazing speaker performance! This guy is a true master of the art of making fun of people.
If federal skate contests would be hosted by this guy, I would probably watch them! I laughed my ass off the entire time.
(If you were offended by his jokes, you might start considering playing “Haki” instead of coming to a skate event, just saying…)
“Matteo comment ??! Matteo Vandepuuuuuuuuutte !!!”
To another 10 years, merci Skate & Triton!

A real DIY pionner in the area. A real legend. We owe him a lot.
